What an amazing venue for our daughter and new son-in-laws wedding! From day one when we came to view the venue right up to tidying up our last remaining wedding bits the day after the wedding, everyone was so kind and helpful, attentive and professional throughout the whole process.The venue is absolutely stunning. The way the wedding flowed from outside gazebo for the ceremony to the copper room for the wedding breakfast, then onto the outside patio for drinks and canapés then into the marquee for the evening was seamless.You can choose the most amazing venue which takes your breath away as soon as you drive up the gravel path, but it’s the people that are working their socks off behind the scenes inside that make this place run like clockwork.The food was amazing. Everyone said they had never tasted food so good at a wedding (that was still hot when it came out too!!)We had a couple of guests with allergies and dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble for the chef to accommodate this.We chose suppliers that have worked at this venue countless times. The rapport they have with each other and the praise and respect they have for Mulberry House filled us with such confidence that we knew the day was going to run like clockwork.Some of us stayed overnight. This was one of the things that drew us to Mulberry House as a few guests had travelled some distance and we wanted them to be in accommodation on site. It worked perfectly.The rooms were beautiful and breakfast the following morning was superb (again with the allergies and dietary requirements taken into account).It was the most perfect day at the most perfect venue.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Where do we even begin…We got married at Mulberry House on the hottest day of the year, and from the moment we arrived, every single member of staff went above and beyond to look after us. Jo was incredible in the morning, doing everything she could to keep us cool by providing fans, bring drinks, ice and making sure we were as comfortable as possible. It was such a thoughtful touch and very much appreciated!Every member of staff working at our wedding was warm, professional and genuinely cared about making our day special. We are so grateful to all of them, but we especially want to thank Claire, Sammy and Kim.Unfortunately, one of our wedding suppliers let us down on the day, and understandably it was incredibly upsetting. Claire and Sammy immediately stepped in, comforted me when I was in tears, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to find a replacement dance floor company at very short notice. Thanks to Claire for organising everything so quickly and helping to save the evening. They even rearranged our cake cutting to fit around the changes without making us feel stressed.Throughout the entire day they continually checked in on us, made sure we had drinks, brought us canapés, and genuinely looked after us. Their kindness, empathy and professionalism never wavered, even when the schedule didn’t go to plan. We honestly felt so cared for, and that’s something we’ll never forget.A special mention as well to Aurora Pearl, who came to the rescue with our dance floor and light-up letters at such short notice. If you’re getting married here and need a reliable supplier, we couldn’t recommend them enough! Also Sophia at Daisy do events - she was amazing at our decor and really looked after us.Mulberry House is an absolutely stunning venue, but the staff there are amazing. They don’t just host your wedding—they genuinely take care of you. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or a more supportive team, and despite the unexpected challenges, they helped make our day unforgettable.If you’re considering getting married here, put Mulberry House at the very top of your list. AMAZING WEDDING VENUE! Absolutely amazing venue for our daughter and new son in laws wedding day. The staff were amazing and from the day we viewed the venue to the day after the wedding they were so professional but attentive and honestly made the whole process seamless. The wedding ceremony was in the outside gazebo, then canapés and welcome drinks in the conservatory and on the outside patio. The wedding breakfast then in the copper room next to the main house and the evening reception in the marquee. There is plenty of accommodation on site (the rooms were stunning) and breakfast in the morning. All the suppliers we used raved about Mulberry House and how they loved working with them which gave us so much confidence that the day would run like clockwork. The food was amazing and all allergies and dietary requirements catered for. Everyone said it was one of the best weddings they had been to with the best food and amazing staff who couldn’t do enough to make sure everyone was ok.

We had our wedding here in May 2026 and it was the most perfect day. The facilities and grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, and the staff are absolutely fantastic. The planning process was made easy with their portal and great communication, and as soon as we stepped into the venue on the morning of the wedding we were made to feel extra special and cared for. The food was also exceptional with lots of choice. All our guests commented on how great the venue, staff and food was. A special shout out to all the staff who were all so friendly and professional, and especially to Jo who went out of her way to make us feel like VIPs. The rooms and honeymoon suite were also fantastic - I could not recommend this venue enough if you are planning your wedding! Thank you Mulberry House!

We had the most wonderful wedding and overall experience at Mulberry House! We fell in love with the venue on our first viewing after seeing the immaculate grounds, but from day one, before even booking, we were welcomed warmly and made to feel special.Throughout the planning process, Mulberry House's communication was consistent and thorough. They covered all aspects of the day by asking me for information in small intervals, so nothing felt overwhelming or confusing, it was a completely smooth process.On my wedding day itself, I was looked after so well. It truly felt like we were the only wedding of the year with how attentive and warm the staff were, despite Mulberry House hosting over 4 weddings that same week before us. We recently got married at mulberry house and wow, we literally couldn’t fault them. From day one, their communication was incredible - nothing was too much trouble and they responded quickly which helped us when planning from Australia! On the day, we did not have to worry about anything, they handled the running of the day so well and made sure everyone knew where they needed to be at the right times. We needed to make a small change to the menu and it was no trouble at all and the food was out of this world!Everything ran smoothly on the day the staff were brilliant.They offer lots of wedding packages at I think a reasonable price! They have plenty of guests rooms which was important to us, so family and friends could stay and they have all been beautifully renovated. Oh wow, where to start? From the moment that we had our initial viewing of the venue, to the goodbyes the day after our wedding, every single thing about Mulberry House shows that they will go the extra mile for you. The whole process was smooth, plenty of support along the way, and a really nice collection of staff in every department. The grounds are truly spectacular, and the grounds staff are fantastic at what they do. An extra large thank you has to be given to Claire though, she was our wedding coordinator for the day and she is a diamond, possibly the nicest person I have ever met. Claire was so proactive with everything, making sure that you are cared for at every step, and sorted the little details before we even thought about them. She settled nerves, she gave us energy, and she deserves the crown of Queen of Mulberry House. We absolutely will be coming back for future events

We had an incredible wedding day and wouldn’t change a thing! Claire and the team were truly amazing and helped us out so much, they helped the day run so smoothly and without them none of it would’ve been possible. We are beyond grateful to every individual who worked on making sure our wedding was everything we’d imagined! Our wedding from the beginning right until breakfast the day after, would not have been possible without all the help we had - Our venue viewing with Jo, meetings with Chloe, emails with Nicola and Chloe with any questions we had (they answered every single query we had, big or small), Food tasting, open days to show our family, a phone call with Olivia, the drop off the day before, the on the day team, Claire, JoJo, the lady on reception and the bar staff and the team who were there for breakfast the next morning.We chose the traditional British BBQ for our wedding breakfast and the pizza buffet for our evening food - The food was amazing, we’ve even had our guests tell us how much they enjoyed the food.All the rooms are lovely (Especially the bridal suite), the beds were so comfortable, I didn’t want to get out of it the next morning!Claire you are amazing at what you do and I could not have got through the day without you, Liam and I are so grateful for you 🤍 JoJo, thank you so much for your help the morning of the wedding and making sure that my dress was laid perfectly before walking down the aisle, I am so grateful ☺️We want to say a HUGE thank you to Mulberry House for hosting our beautiful day, everything was perfect and I wish we could do the whole day again! 🤍

I really cannot recommend this venue enough. The grounds and rooms are beautiful and immaculate. We looked at many venues and this was by far the most beautiful and well maintained. We were blessed with beautiful weather so the outdoor ceremony was magical.
The food was outstanding so thank you Chef and your wonderful team. The marquee was perfect for the evening and we all danced the night away
It had been a very stressful few months building up to the day but from the moment we walked in and were greeted by Jo Jo I felt calm and relaxed. She is absolutely wonderful, professional, calm and so efficient and organised I immediately knew we could just relax and enjoy our morning getting ready. Thank you Jo Jo you were a massive part in making our day perfect. Big thanks to Sammy who again was wonderful, professional and very organised. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and they all went out of their way to put you at ease and make sure you had a day to remember. I didn’t get everyone’s name but a big shout out to the ladies behind the bar in the evening you were brilliant and we had so many guests tell us how great and funny you were. Also the young lady behind the bar in the garden room again lovely professional and so helpful

We had the most perfect wedding at Mulberry House and can't thank the wedding team enough for all their help, both in the run up to and on the day! We had so many comments from our guests about how beautiful the venue was, the delicious food and how lovely the staff were.More detail:We knew we wanted to celebrate at Mulberry House when we first drove in to visit - the grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are so pretty, you really don't need to add loads of decor to them unlike some other 'blank canvas' venues we visited. We loved that we could have a different room for the Wedding Breakfast and the evening reception, especially as the team explained how easy they would make it to move between rooms on the day (which they did!).In the pre- and post-booking stage, everyone was so helpful, responsive, and generous with their time (despite our many questions, changes in potential wedding dates, short timelines and helping us work through any hiccups and last minute changes along the way). The open days and menu tasting were also super helpful to be able to picture your day coming together. On the day, everything ran so smoothly - there were a few different bits to coordinate as we had our ceremony at a church off-site, but it was all absolutely seamless. They are amazing at what they do!The newly refurbished bridal suite was the perfect room to get ready in, the honeymoon suite is beautiful, and we had a few guests stay over who also commented on the lovely rooms. The reception team also helped with some last minute room swaps (sorry again for that!) - no ask was too big and it just helped make everything so easy. Breakfast the following day was also delicious.

Amazing hotel and wedding venue. Never stayed here but as a local we have attended many functions. We are currently a recommended supplier at this venue for our mini golf. Its brilliant entertainment for all the family and makes for an amazing choice for weddings.

Main House, Top floor, 11/10 Another great stay at the Mulberry, this time it was a family affair. Because there was three of us, My wife, son and myself we needed two rooms, taking Richards advice from our last review we stayed in the house, top floor and two fantastic rooms.
What can I say, these rooms are stunning, every effort has gone into making your stay elegant and super special. The rooms are spacious, quiet with fantastic shower and bath facilities, The beds are huge and comfy, our son couldn't quite believe the luxury of his room.

Location - Rural but only a short journey into Ongar high Street
Atmosphere - It's always the same, welcoming, warm and everyone cannot do enough for you.
Value - Its like everything in life, you get what you pay for, BUT when you look around the area at other hotels, Mulberry House is no more expensive, sometimes cheaper for a top tier stay.
Cleanliness - Is second to none, I have bumped into some of the girls who take care of this, they are bubbly and always happy to have a quick chat and a joke.

Excellent Wedding Venue Our Son and Daughter in Law had their wedding at Mulberry House on Saturday 11th April 2026. It was all about fun and the whole experience of the day from the Bride and her entourage and the Groom and his merry men getting ready, to the ceremony in the garden, alongside the luncheon, was followed by the evening reception with a live band and all was exceptional. The staff were brilliant , first class and nothing was too much trouble. It was all so organised with superb detail to the requests were made easily possible. I would recommend this venue and their lovely staff to anyone, even the breakfast was tastefully done. Definitely worth attending one of their open days. Great hotel I stayed at Mulberry house on a last minute booking. From start to finish it was fantastic. When I arrived Kim booked me in and showed me round the hotel, she even made me a cup of tea. She made me feel very welcome. My room was lovley, very comfortable and had everything I needed. The breakfast was delicious, a varied selection, the full English was very good.

Took my mum to a Mulberry House Mother’s Day’s lunch. Have to say what amazing time we had, great food great service and a lovely warm welcome. All Three courses were delicious and beautifully presented and we received a lovely Mother’s Day gift. We will definitely be returning again in the future.

A very warm welcome on arrival set the feel for the duration of our stay. Professional, warm, engaging staff puts this venue way above competitors. The highest of standards throughout are reflected in every department.

Amazing location. It is quiet, cosy and comfortable.

We stayed one night at this hotel as we had a cremation to attend the following day and wanted to avoid a long journey.We were in one of the lovely recently refurbished Courtyard rooms . It was very quiet , bed comfy and great bathroom.Breakfast was equally as good . The staff were all very friendly , polite and professional . They really went the extra mile .Couldn’t fault this hotel and would highly recommend!

Mulberry House is a fantastic multi-award winning wedding venue set in the heart of the Essex countryside. As a wedding photographer and videographer, I really appreciate the fantastic facilities and high level of service provided by the staff for their brides and grooms to host their weddings.It's a wonderful location with a beautiful ornamental lake, complete with idyllic bridge, a cute stock of wild fowl like geese and ducks, and even Alpaca neighbours!The house is beautifully kept, with a couple of spacious rooms for preparation, a lovely bridal suite, gardens, air conditioned ceremony room (or on the lawn at the beautiful gazebo). The management are constantly improving the provisions for their clients, and it really shows.There is a large marquee for your wedding breakfast and plenty of rooms for your guests to stay. The venue has ample opportunities for entertaining. The food is top quality and for a wedding couple, you couldn't ask for more.Visit Mulberry House, take in the history and then just book it. You won't be disappointed!

We got married here on Jan 31st 2026. The team were absolutely brilliant from the get go and they supported us so well on the day. The venue offers a great mix of old and new, with a historic house, modern marquee and very recently refurbished ceremony room. Nothing was too much for the team and everyone said what an amazing wedding it was. We had a great time celebrating there and can't wait to return at a warmer time for their afternoon tea offering!

The single night stay with a group of fellow car owners club was fabulous. The staff couldn’t don enough to help us. The food was superb, timely, delicious & well “arranged”. Breakfast was a buffet style with full English & continental available. The full English was well stocked with great food. |The room we had was fabulous, the bathroom equally so. The walk in shower with ultra modern controls was a delight. Spacious, clean & perfect temperature. The mattress was firm & very, very comfortable.

I’ve been to Mulberry House twice this month for their different events - one with children and one with friends. Both were absolutely fabulous. The venue is stunning and gorgeously decorated for Christmas. The food is wonderful, and the service even better. We were served by Alison who really made our night on both occasions and Claire the events manger is wonderful. Our children particularly loved the authenticity of the Santa - he was incredible and very attentive, |Would highly recommend.

On Friday 18th 6 people from 3food4U Charity were representing our Charity at Mulberry House Masked Ball. |We were very pleasantly suprised to see where we were dining in a beautifully decorated room. The silk drapes at the ceiling had a lovely golden decoration along it. There were fantastic Christmas decorations everywhere, very tastefully executed. |Our table had some masks to wear if you didn’t wear your own ones, plus a lovely very tall vase with white flowers displayed in there. |The food was very tasty and all homemade by the Chefs in Mulberry House kitchens. |The waiting staff were most attentive and unobtrusive. |A really good DJ played music to suit the age group of the customers and l really enjoyed looking at how lovely the ladies looked in their finery. |The men looked handsome in their evening wear. |Altogether a most enjoyable evening was had by our table and by the other guests l am sure.

Took my grandchildren to meet Santa at Mulberry house. |It really was the most amazing time. Santa took time to speak to each child, gave them a certificate and gift - we were able to take picture and the lovely staff also took some photos so the whole family were in the group shots. |Food and service gets top marks for freshness and quality , and they catered well for my grand daughter’s allergies - of which she has several . |Both children really had the best time as did we as adults - just nothing was too much trouble - we will be back next year and would really recommend this venue and experience . My family & I had Christmas lunch with Santa on Sunday 21 December. From booking the lunch, arriving at the venue & being served the meal the service was flawless. The chef prepared a vegetarian meal for my daughter that she specially requested & nothing was too much trouble. Everyone I spoke to was helpful & Angela on reception is excellent. Santa was great too. Thank you all

We enjoyed a well organised Christmas event last night at Mulberry House, run by a professional & friendly team of staff who looked after us throughout the evening in the Marquee. I went to Mulberry House for lunch with Santa, and it was absolutely outstanding. I’ve experienced many Santa events over the years, but I have never encountered a Santa quite as wonderful as this one. What truly set the day apart, though—and something that is so rare nowadays—was the exceptional five-star service. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make our visit special.A special mention must go to the receptionist, Jackie, who truly made our experience extra memorable with her warmth and care. The chefs were fantastic, the food was outstanding, and the whole experience offered incredible value for money.If I could give this experience six stars, I absolutely would. Thank you to everyone involved for such a magical and memorable day.

Came for Santa lunch last Sunday. Really beautiful venue, very welcoming. Staff couldn't have done more for us. Santa was brilliant - spent time with every child individually. Food was amazing. Cocktails were delicious. A very lovely day all round.

We came for Sunday lunch with Santa, it was very good. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and polite. Santa and his helper were very good, spent a lot of time with the children and plenty of photo opportunities.The lunch was excellent, nicely presented, good quality food and very hot, with a good selection of veg and cauliflower cheese. Mulberry House is very clean, nicely decorated and set in picturesque grounds. Plenty of parking

If I could award 10 stars I would! What a fantastic venue, the staff work so hard and nothing is too much trouble.We had our wedding at Mulberry House yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. The location is stunning, the rooms are beautiful (especially the honeymoon suite), the grounds are spectacular and the food amazing.I would wholeheartedly recommend Mulberry House if you want the most special of days.

A beautiful wedding day to remember We had our wedding here on Monday (1.12.25) and it was absolutely beautiful! The grounds are stunning, staff are beyond helpful and the beds themselves are another level of comfort! The location is a little out of the way, but that's what we loved about the venue. We recommend a Monday wedding, the venue was completely ours all day. Everyone kept complimenting the food, even now, days later, people are still mentioning the food!

Exceptional Festive Afternoon Tea - Not To Be Forgotten We enjoyed an exceptional Afternoon Tea at Mulberry House, beautifully arranged by Claire. Fabulous Masquerade ball The whole experience was perfect from beginning to end. Friendly staff who greeted us and welcomed us to our tables. The decorations were exquisite and certainly put me in the Christmas spirit .
The staff who attended our table used our first names and really made sure we were looked after.
The food was delicious. One of us was gluten free and all three courses were catered for and so tasty.
The party was fun and we were even given LED flashing sticks to dance with.
It was a great night and I can highly recommend Mulberry house.
I also held my mother's wake there a few years ago and it was perfect then too!

Amazing Wedding From start to finish, we had the best wedding experience at Mulberry House. The staff was extremely detailed, thorough, and overall helpful leading up to our day and the day itself. We got married at Mulberry House on the 16th of October 2025, and it was everything we had ever dreamed of and more. From the very beginning, the experience was seamless. Jo made the booking process so easy — she was clear, professional, and explained every step in detail, which gave us so much confidence right from the start.||Our final planning meeting was with Chloe, who couldn’t have been more warm and welcoming. She walked us through every part of our wedding plans and instantly put our minds at ease. A Wedding day that we will never forget Me and my now wife booked Mulberry house for our wedding day and from start to finish, they were absolute amazing. They are very professional, informative and give plenty of options leaving the decision to yourselves as couples, whilst also making good recommendations.
We would like to give Claire a special mention for going above and beyond for our special day, ensuring everything was were it needed to be, bringing canope's out for me and my bride whilst photographs were taken, even a pizza and bottle of champagne outside our bedroom door for when the night ended. She did so much for us, things we did not even think about and just took care of it. Absolutely amazing.

Another special shout out is to Chloe for extremely good communication, understanding and very clear information about the day.

If you are thinking about booking a wedding venue, especially in Essex, do not rule out Mulberry House. The staff are amazing, the grounds and venue speak for themselves and the value for money, especially in this current financial times, just cannot be beat. You will not regret it.

Wedding venue Mulberry House is simply stunning! The location is beautiful.

We had our wedding here recently and had the most amazing day. The staff are incredible and work so hard to make couples days so special and nothing is too much trouble. From start to finish we have had an awesome experience.

The food is exceptional and the chefs are so accommodating with food allergies. Bar staff were brilliant and worked their socks off all day and night.

The rooms were spotless and beds incredibly comfortable.

We would recommend this venue to everyone!

Our Wedding 24.11.25 Me and my husband went to visit mulberry house in November 2024, in the hopes we would find our wedding venue.
We were greeted by lovely Jo who was wonderful. After seeing the beautiful grounds and meeting the lovely staff we decided to book. Throughout the planning process Chloe & Nicola was fantastic, super informative and professional.
Nothing was ever a bother for them.
Reception were brilliant in booking the rooms and informing our guests of payments etc..
A few of my guests had allergies and the staff worked really hard to make sure there was no cross contamination on the day.
On the day of our wedding I was met by my wedding coordinator Claire. On the day I was very nervous and she was very kind and patient with me. She made sure our whole day ran as smooth as possible with no fault & made sure I had a glass of Prosecco in my hand straight after the ceremony.
Our food was beautiful and all our guests said it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. Catrina was with me throughout the day to work alongside Claire and she was just so lovely it made the whole experience that more special.
At the end of the night we were left with a bottle of bubbly to celebrate between us.
Thank you mulberry house for the most wonderful hospitality & perfect venue.
We will return in the future.

Beautiful wedding venue Me and my partner booked Mulberry House for our wedding which we had in November and it was the most perfect day! The ground are beautiful and the staff looked after us throughout our whole experience. Chloe was our wedding specialist who we were in touch with throughout all the planning, making sure everything was planned to perfection then Claire looked after us all day, nothing was ever too much trouble and she made sure the whole day run so smoothly. The best venue & team! I went to afternoon tea here in April 2024 dragged my hubby to be back a week later and we booked our wedding for 20th November 2025 without seeing any other venues I just knew this was the one. The whole day ran seamlessly it was incredible, can’t thank Chloe enough on planning side and Claire and the team enough on the day nothing was too much trouble 10/10 would do it again with Mulberry.
